Corp members exercise their right to walk a little too far, walking distances unimaginable.
But the strength doesn't come from the uniform. It hardly does. In fact, the uniform might hinder the ability or even discourage the desire to go to such lengths.
The power, really, is in the community. A corper in a uniform would only go as far as the people with them would go.
Just two days to POP, myself and Deborah had the honour of inducting two of our fellow soldiers to march with us a great distance.
And guess what? Even with the distance, it didn't seem long, nor did we feel weary.
That's the power of community.
As Bishop David Oyedepo would say: "If you want to go fast, walk alone. If you want to go far, walk with people."
Moral Lesson: Never walk alone.
