Whispers Of Counsel

 So it was, unto man,

Recorded in the anals of time,

For every man to follow counsel:

Whispers from the LEFT, or

Whispers from the RIGHT.

It is appointed of man to follow the counsel,

Which seemeth right unto him.

The whispers from the Left:

So foggy and Misty;

It fills the ears, 

And clouds the heart;

It blows loud and persistent at the ears.

Its counsel always seems right,

Because it is pleasurable to the heart;

For it incites longing for earthly passions.

The whispers from the Right:

So beautiful and sweet;

It clears the ears,

And soothes the heart;

It blows softly and swiftly at the ears.

Its counsel seems foolish,

Because it turns the heart from earthly passions,

And incites the longing for heavenly rewards.

The whispers from the Left:

Shows the eyes, the passions of the world.

Its counsel is half-baked and incomplete,

Where all that man sees, is a mirage.

The man steps into a zone of illusion,

And he is left lonely,

On the wide road of passion:

Yet, to an unpleasant destination.

The whispers from the Right:

Shows the eyes, the mansions of heaven.

Its counsel is pure and upright,

Where all man sees is grace in illumination.

The man steps into a zone of righteousness,

And he is left fulfilled,

On the narrow way of salvation: 

On the course, to the most pleasant destination.

The whispers of the Left:

Leads man through the road of destruction,

A place of unstoppable weeping,

A place of continuous gnashing of teeth and,  

A place with unquenchable fire.

In the end, all earthly passion is vanity,

For pleasure in them is only for a short while.

The whispers of the Right:

Leads man through the road of salvation,

A place of unending worship,

A place of unspeakable joy and,

A place of eternal glory.

In the end, all heavenly rewards last eternity,

For pleasure in them is eternal.

As it was before unto man,

So it is today for every man, 

To choose which counsel to follow:

Whispers from the Left, or

Whispers from the Right.

For It is appointed for man to die once,

After this, judgement is served. (Heb. 9:27)
