It's High Time We Spoke About Time

Time is phased in three ways -The past, the present and the future. They are all the same, significant in shaping our lives. Therefore, we must utilize every one of them. The past is gone, it remains the past. The present is where we are. The future is where we can be, or…will be.

We must always understand that at every given time, we are in the present. The present will eventually become past, and it is rehearsal for the future.

THE PAST

So many people dwell in the past. They dwell in the pains or gains of the past and never get to live in the reality of the present.

Of course, the past may hold so much, artefacts, history, generations, whatever! Even tools for today's success. However, to dwell in the past is to jeopardize our present and to dim the brightness of our future.

The past is always a structure of history, a mental museum. It houses pains, gains and experiences. So what?! The past is gone. The only thing we can do is take the most important tool from the past - Lessons.

Look at the bright side of any misfortune. You must always learn a lesson or two, or more. That's what the past important. You can never go back to the past. You can never turn back the hands of the clock. You have to keep moving. But, move on what? Hmmph, the lessons of the paaast. They exist in fortunes and misfortunes. Look out for them.

Lessons are learnt from every of our experiences - good or bad. It becomes so difficult to live in the present when we learn no lesson. These lessons are like balm that heals the aching heart. So never wallow in regret, instead use the past lesson balm to rub your heart and as they say… Time will heal the wound.

Apart from wallowing in regrets. We must never wallow in the glories of the past. We must always press forward and build a mental monument in the present. In the future. Forever. We must stand taller than our past. The past can be a recommendation in the present. They call it experience. But You and I know that situations can always be better than they were in the past.

Strive and stand for a better than yesterday. Yesterday is gone. Today is now. Make use of lessons. Don't dwell in the past. Dwell in the present, it is where we are.

THE PRESENT

You are in the present now. You read the one above in the past, and you will read the ones following in the future. That's a simple illustration of time phased three ways.

Being in the present is truly a present. It is an opportunity. It is an opportunity to re-write history, update our status, and be better versions of our past self.

Just like a relay race, the past has given the baton to the present. We are to run the present because it is our time. The present may be continuation of the past. So while we stay on track, we must make sure to deal fairly and optimise every opportunity in the present.

I remember something I was told years ago: "Time is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. They all have the letter 'T' in them signifying time, but yesterday's T has moved on," So he said. I then asked in my childish curiousity, "What made the T in yesterday to move?"

"It lies in its first letter 'Y', which signifies You."

"Me?... You?" I asked again perplexed by this answer.

"Here again that's all there is before T - Your answer."

"'YES'"

"Yeah. The Ts of Today and Tomorrow are still first, because the Time is now. You enjoy your time NOW. You build your future NOW.", I kept my gaze wondering where he was headed. "Look at all three, you'd notice that yesterday has no Os. Today has one O. Tomorrow has three."

"Oh yes, I can see that."

"O stands for opportunity. No opportunities in yesterday, one opportunity today, and multiple tomorrow." I was still trying to comprehend, then he continued.

"There is always an opportunity for you every day. You must look out for it."

Well, it's  been years since I had that hypothetical conversation. So what did I learn? I have learnt a lot. Opportunities present themselves every day. So I must always be on the lookout for today's opportunity - The gift of the present.

I am going to be dwelling so much on the present because that's where I am. It is indeed of utmost importance for you to use the gift, the opportunity.

The present may have one opportunity, or two, or three or a million. The point is, opportunities will always be. They will always present themselves. Hence, we should never slack on this. We must always create the opportunity, or tap into the opportunity. It's always there.

There is this saying that opportunities are for the prepared. When opportunity meets a prepared mind, it becomes exponential, astounding, glorious. And that's why the present is your gift. It is the time to prepare for these opportunities and always use them.

The present is not just to correct mistakes and heal wounds, but to grow success, to  update our status. The present presents us with an opportunity to be whoever we want to be. Seize it!

The past has no opportunities, but the present does. The past has lessons we must learn from. We should use these lessons for the present. If you had an experience from the past and you don't learn anything, then the present can't be any better.

We must use the one tool from the past to augment our opportunities now, in the present. Make use of the present this instant and deal with it. Deal with it with all your strength, might, power, and make sure you get positive results. Or else, never give up.

When you utilize the present to the maximum, you open so many doors of opportunities in the future. You shine more light into the future, so it is brighter and brighter with each effort you make. Your eyes are open to opportunities available and you can see clearly while you tread on that path now.

THE FUTURE

I hope we get talking about the future and more hidden mysteries of time. In the future of course… Again and better. So look up, read again, digest, apply, live by, teach, and share. Let everyone see.

Also, let's talk.
